Dr. Ounsi el Daif

Dr. Ounsi el Daif is an academic and environmental civil society expert. A physicist who studied in France and Switzerland, earning his PhD in 2007 from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland), he was a researcher in the field of solar photovoltaic energy in world-class scientific labs (EPFL, Lyon Nanotechnology Institute in France, IMEC in Belgium, QEERI in Qatar) as well as a university lecturer until 2015. He has lectured at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the American University of Beirut on solar energy and physics.

Angela Saadé

Angela Saadé earned a Master of Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG) and a Master of Applied Anthropology from the University Lumiere Lyon2. She has worked as a photovoltaic (PV) project manager and an energy expert at Hespul in Lyon, France. She has also been involved in national policy consultation between the grid manager and the French government. For four years, she worked in the field of energy and urban planning in different European cities. 

Ziad Daif

Ziad Daif has been a board member of Lebanon Support since 2018.  He studied at USJ and at ESA in Beirut, and holds a Master degree in Management. He is a supply chain management expert and has extensive experience in many industrial fields, ranging from energy to shipping. In parallel, he is very engaged in local and environmental development, and in the reforestation of his hometown Ehden.

Peter Matar

Peter Matar is an architect and holds a Master degree in Architecture from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts ALBA. After 8 years in the field of architecture, he started pursuing an additional degree in International Project Management from ESCP Paris. His goal is to achieve a more efficient approach to working on public/private development projects such as sustainable and smart cities, and community awareness on the social impact of the built environment. He joined Lebanon Support as a member, advising on social architecture and urbanism, and was elected to the board in 2018.

Miriam Younes

Miriam Younes is the director of the regional office of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in Beirut. She has previously worked as research assistant at the German-Orient Institute Beirut, as a research associate at the Middle Eastern Studies Department at the University of Basel/Switzerland, and as a research coordinator at Lebanon Support.
