Challenging Power and Inequality: Gender and Social Justice in the Middle East (En-Fr-Ar) (this cfp is closed)

Civil society in the Middle East has continued to centre initiatives and projects on gender equality and women’s rights over the past few years. In many ways, this can be read as a part of a long history of both activist and feminist engagements in the region. Lebanon Support is seeking submissions for the Civil Society Review issue titled "Challenging Power and Inequality: Gender and Social Justice in the Middle East".

Migration, mobility, and circulation in the Middle East: rethinking inequalities and informality

About the Study Week

The Migration Study Week, organised by Lebanon Support, offers a participatory, interdisciplinary, innovative, and intensive immersion in migration issues in the Middle East. It aims at providing practitioners, junior researchers, and journalists that work with and on refugees the opportunity to reflect critically on the main problematics that shape migration, mobility, and circulation in the Middle East.

Bassem Chit Fellowship for the Study of Activism (En-Fr-Ar) (this cfa is closed)

The Bassem Chit Fellowship for the Study of Activism aims to give early career scholars the opportunity to conduct research on activism in the Arab world. It invites them to examine political processes from below, with a focus on contentious politics, and collective action while steering away from the idea of the cultural exceptionalism of the “area”. The fellowship particularly seeks to encourage research that explores the genealogy of mobilizing actors, their action repertoires, their framing processes, their modes of actions, and their demands.
