This webinar aims to discuss the impact of the multilayered Lebanese economic crisis and its major macroeconomic shocks on the social protection landscape in Lebanon. Speakers will present a survey (conducted between July and August 2022) and report by CeSSRA. With a nationally representative sample of 1,327 respondents of Lebanese nationality, the survey examines the social protection mechanisms and effective health care systems and coverages in Lebanon, amid an ongoing social and economic crisis hitting the country since 2019. During the webinar, the main social and economic indicators, that are instrumental to understand the impact of the crisis on the Lebanese social protection framework, will be presented and discussed, in view of exploring recommendations for policy reforms towards universal social protection.

تتناول هذه الندوة تأثير الأزمة الاقتصادية اللبنانية المتعدّدة المستويات وتداعياتها على صعيد الحماية الاجتماعية في لبنان. سيعرض المتحدّثان استطلاعًا (أُجري بين تمّوز/يوليو وآب/أغسطس ۲٠۲۲) وتقريرًا أعدَّه مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية. من خلال عيّنة تمثيلية على المستوى الوطني تضمّ ۱٣۲٧ مُستطلَعًا/ة من الجنسية اللبنانية، يدرس الاستطلاع آليات الحماية الاجتماعية وأنظمة الرعاية الصحّية والتغطية الفعلية في لبنان، في خضمّ أزمة اجتماعية واقتصادية مستمرّة تعصف بالبلد منذ عام ۲٠۱۹. تُناقِش الندوة أهمّ المؤشّرات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي تُعتبَر أساسية لفهم تأثير الأزمة على إطار الحماية الاجتماعية في لبنان، وذلك بهدف البحث في التوصيات الممكنة لإصلاح السياسات العامّة من أجل توفير الحماية الاجتماعية الشاملة.
