The second session of this webinar cycle will discuss the research of Pr. Gilbert Achcar on the relations between hegemony, domination, corruption and regime’s resilience in the Middle East. The resilience of the “Arab political order” in the face of social movements poses the question of hegemony and its tools, questioning the role of repression, coercion and corruption. Ultimately, the webinar aims at understanding the regimes’ resilience key factors and the conditions for successful revolutionary change. 

The webinar is part of the thematic cycle “Understanding the social question in the Middle East and North Africa” by The Centre for Social Sciences Research and Action. By undertaking a historical and political survey of the progressive reconfigurations of the social question in the region, this webinar series wishes to contribute to better understand the construction of social justice demands in contemporary Middle East and North Africa. في هذه الجلسة الثانية من سلسلة الندوات، نُناقش نتائج أبحاث البروفسور جلبير الأشقر حول العلاقات بين الهيمنة والسيطرة والفساد وصمود النظام في الشرق الأوسط. فصمود "النظام السياسي العربي" في وجه الحركات الاجتماعية يطرحُ مسألةَ الهيمنة وأدواتها ودور القمع والإكراه والفساد. تهدف الندوة إلى فهم العوامل الرئيسية لصمود الأنظمة وظروف التغيير الثوري الناجح.

تندرج هذه الندوة في إطار سلسلة من الندوات أطلقها مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية تحت عنوان "فهم المسألة الاجتماعية في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا". من خلال إجراء مسح تاريخي وسياسي لعمليات إعادة التشكيل التدريجي للمسألة الاجتماعية في المنطقة، تطمح سلسلة الندوات هذه إلى المساهمة في تحقيق فهم أفضل لعملية بناء مَطالِب العدالة الاجتماعية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا خلال عصرنا الحالي. المزيد عن هذه السلسلة عبر هذا الرابط.
