Lebanon Support is organising two open events in parallel to our Study Week on Migration*: 
 

The Migration Study Week, organised by Lebanon Support, offers a participatory, interdisciplinary, innovative, and intensive immersion in migration issues in the Middle East.

It provides a space for synergies, networking, and sharing experiences between scholars and practitioners in the region, in view of facilitating multi-disciplinary collaboration.

At a time when the theme of “migration” is increasingly ubiquitous, but with little efforts to combine between the national (macro-), subnational/local (meso-), and individual (micro-) levels, and to convey policy recommendations based on localised research.
 

In this vein, and during the course of this week, we will be hosting the two following public events:
 

Monday 26 August 2019 at 6 PM: 

“A conversation with Meriam Prado Duval (Alliance of Migrant Domestic Workers)”

at SmallVille Hotel (Badaro).

Our special guest, Meriam Prado Duval, will be sharing her insights and her experience as a migrant domestic worker and activist in Lebanon.

Thursday 29 August 2019 at 6:30 PM

“How can scientific research inform programmatic interventions and policy-making?” 

at SmallVille Hotel (Badaro). 

A round table gathering scholars and practitioners to discuss effective ways to more evidence-based programmatic interventions and policy making.

Ms. Virginie Lefèvre, Amel Association, 

Dr. Nasser Yassine, Issam Fares Institute, AUB.
 

The roundtable will be moderated by Prof. Elizabeth Picard (IREMAM, CNRS).

ينظم مركز دعم لبنان لقائين مفتوحين الى جانب أسبوع دراسة الهجرة*:
يوفّر أسبوع دراسة الهجرة، الذي ينظمه مركز دعم لبنان، نهجًا تشاركيًا ومتعدد التخصصات وابتكارياً ومكثفاً للتعمقّ في قضايا الهجرة في الشرق الأوسط. ويهدف إلى تزويد الممارسين والباحثين المبتدئين والصحفيين الذين يعملون مع اللاجئين وعلى قضيتهم، فرصةً للتفكير بشكل نقدي في المشكلات الرئيسية المتعلقة بالهجرة والتنقل والحركة في الشرق الأوسط. وفي الوقت الذي يتزايد التطرق الى موضوع "الهجرة" في الأبحاث وصنع السياسات، لكن تبقى الجهود للجمع بين المستويات الوطنية (الكلّية) ودون الوطنية/ المحلّية (الأوسط) والفردية (الجزئية) واستناد توصيات العمل على الأبحاث المحلية محدودة. 
 

وفي هذا السياق، وأثناء هذا الاسبوع، سنقيم اللقائين المفتوحين التاليين:

تجمع الطاولة المستديرة الأكاديميين والممارسين لمناقشة طرق فعالية للتدخلات البرنامجية وصنع السياسات القائمة على الأدلة.
